**These policies are designed to promote fairness and efficiency in the management of appointments and services. We kindly request that you review and adhere to these guidelines to help facilitate a smooth and organized process for everyone involved. Rest assured that these policies are applied consistently by both our salon staff and clients to ensure a fair and transparent experience for all.   • Studio Etiquette
    • To maintain a focused and safe environment for both clients and staff, Loc’d N Studios restricts extra guests from accompanying clients, with the exception of children under the age of 12, who are allowed to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during their service.

    • Loc’d N Studios reserves the right to take photographs/videos of our work for advertisement, documenting and demonstrative purposes. Photos and videos may be used in subsequent years and no monetary considerations shall be paid.

    • Loc’d N Studios reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

  • Reservation
    • A valid credit card/debit card is required to secure a reservation for all clients. Some services require a non-refundable retainer fee at the time of booking.

    • Your card will only be charged at the time of booking if retainer fee is required for the service you are booking. Otherwise, your card will only be authorized, not charged unless the appointment cancellation policy has been broken.

    • An appointment modification to remove a service is considered a cancellation & also requires 24 hours’ notice. Or you’ll be subject to a cancellation fee of $60.

    • Clients booking past their recommended week or whose service is expected to take over 3 hours (Microlocks) are advised to book two consecutive time slots.This ensures that an adequate amount of time is allotted for the appointment, allowing for a thorough and unhurried service. Alternatively, clients may be subject to scheduling a team maintenance or breaking appointments into multiple sessions. This is to ensure the well-being of the stylists by preventing overworking and allowing for breaks during extended appointments.

    • To ensure that appointments run smoothly and on time, it’s important for clients to be aware of and adhere to their scheduled appointment times to avoid incurring additional charges. The additional fees are in place to compensate for the extra time and resources required when appointments go beyond their allotted duration.

  • Cancellation
    • Loc’d N Studios values the time of all clients and stylists. Therefore, has a cancellation policy in place for appointments canceled within less than 24 hours’ notice. Appointments canceled within this timeframe may be subject to a $60 cancellation fee. The decision to uphold this fee is left to the discretion of the stylist.

    • Clients who fail to show up for their scheduled appointments without prior notice will be charged a $60 cancellation fee. Additionally, the salon will use the card on file to secure the reservation for processing this cancellation fee. 

    • If the card on file declines the cancellation fee, all future appointments may be canceled, subject to the discretion of the stylist. 

    • Cancellation if Unconfirmed: If appointments are not confirmed within 24 hours, they will be canceled. We value timely communication and confirmation to manage stylist schedules efficiently. Therefore, clients should respond promptly to confirmation calls or messages to avoid any unintentional cancellations. If there are circumstances that prevent you from confirming within the specified timeframe, it's advisable to contact the salon as soon as possible to discuss your situation and confirm your appointment.

    • Clients are encouraged to ensure that the salon has their correct phone number and email address on file. This is essential for the salon to send appointment reminders, improving the chances of clients being aware of their upcoming appointments. 

    • We understand emergencies happen, but it is necessary that we make up for lost time and maintain the business. The policy will apply to all last-minute cancellations including life crisis or any emergencies, etc. It’ll be left to our discretion whether or not to uphold the policy. It’s important to keep the line of communication open for unforeseen weather crises.

  • Early Arrival
    • If you arrive early for your appointment, sit tight until your appointed time.

  • Payments
    • The salon exclusively accepts electronic forms of payment including all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Cash App Pay, and After Pay for select services. We appreciate your understanding that we operate as a cashless business and do not accept cash payments. 

    • Payments for Microlocks or Sisterlocks installations are exclusively accepted through Cash App. 

    • If you choose to charge the card on file, please note that an additional $5 fee will apply. It’s important to be aware that we do not accept payments through Zelle.

  • Deposits
    • To secure an installation booking, retainer fee of $250 is mandatory. It’s essential to note that this retainer fee will be credited towards the final bill for the service.

  • Late Arrival
    • Loc’d N Studios values punctuality and understands that unforeseen circumstances may arise. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, we may need to make adjustments to ensure the smooth operation of our schedule. This could involve asking you to wait, reschedule, or abbreviate your appointment to accommodate the next guest, resulting in possible cancellation fees. 

    • It’s crucial to note that appointments start at their scheduled times. If your appointment exceeds the allotted time, additional fees will be applied: $20 for 15 minutes and $40 for 30 minutes.

    • It’s important to note that if the time extends beyond 30 minutes by even 5 minutes, it will be billed at an hourly rate of $60, treating any additional time beyond the initial 30 minutes as a full hour. 

    • New clients, we ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes early for your scheduled appointment to allow time for parking and locating the salon for the first time.Your stylist will start your appointment as scheduled.

  • Refunds
    • Refunds are not offered for services rendered. If you encounter any issues with your service results, please notify us as soon as possible to allow us the opportunity to remedy the situation.

  • Hair conditions
    • For hygiene purposes, certain services come with shampooing included. Specifically, for consultation services, it is required that you arrive at your appointment with freshly shampooed hair. Please ensure that your hair is free from any conditioners, oils, creams, moisturizers, etc. This helps maintain a clean and optimal environment for the service.

    • It’s important to be aware that factors such overdue maintenance, excessive slippage, unraveling, or budding may extend the duration of the service. In such cases, additional time may be required, and this could potentially result in an increase in service prices. To ensure accurate pricing, it’s advisable not to assume the final cost of your services until they are completed. This allows for flexibility to accommodate any unexpected factors that may affect the duration and complexity of the service. 

  • Consultation
    • Prior to a consultation, it is required that your hair be freshly shampooed, free of any product or style, and in its natural state. Failure to meet these criteria may result in the application of a cancellation fee. 

    • Consultation fees are separate from service fees and will not be applied to services; a consultation is considered its own service. 

    • Any quote provided during your consultation is valid for 90 days. If you go beyond this timeframe without booking the service, another consultation may be necessary. 

    • For clients under the age of 17, a parent or guardian must accompany them at the appointment. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of the service and allows for proper communication with the involved parties.

  • Installs
    • To initiate the service, the remaining payment must be received in full prior to starting. Payments can be made through Cash App or AfterPay. 

    • Rescheduling is not guaranteed, and the situation will be assessed, subject to our discretion. 

    • If rescheduling occurs with less than 72 hours’ notice, the retainer fee will be forfeited automatically. To proceed with the installation process, a new retainer fee of 50% of the service cost must be submitted. 

    • If installation appointments are canceled after 48 hours from the initial consultation, the retainer fee will be forfeited. The decision to uphold this fee is left to the discretion of the stylist. 

    • The salon’s late fee policy applies not only to clients arriving for install appointments but also to those returning from lunch breaks.

    • The first-month retightening service is included in the initial installation price. If the service duration goes over the expected timeframe due to client neglect, the client is responsible for paying any extra fees incurred.
